An additional €307,633.31 in sports capital grants allocated to Kildare following the appeals process- Senator Fiona O’Loughlin

Fianna Fail Senator Fiona O’Loughlin has welcomed the additional €307,633.31 which her colleague the Minister for Sport Jack Chambers announced today.

Senator O’Loughlin said, ” I am delighted to see 5 successful appeal being announced today for Kildare amounting to an additional € 307,633.31 in funding for the county.”

“I welcomed Minister Jack Chambers to Kildare last year and escorted him on a tour of the County visiting many of great local clubs. I have continued to liaise with the Minister and his officials in the background throughout the appeals process and am delighted with todays announcement.”

“Athy Golf Club has been allocated €59,853.25 to fund a Short game Area and Machinery. Coill Dubh AFC has been awarded €50,800.00 toward dressing room facilities. Kilcullen AFC successfully appealed and have received €44,472.85 for their Grass Pitch Development. Leixlip AFC got €119,338.94 for astro pitch development and finally Suncroft Community Centre Walking/Jogging Track received € 33,168.27.”

Fiona concluded by saying “I am so pleased to see this level of funding being allocated to Kildare. Our local sports clubs are integral part of our local communities, and I am delighted that Government have recognised this with todays funding.”
