Senator Fiona O’Loughlin is reminding the people of South Kildare to check their passports now if they are planning to travel abroad over the summer months.
Senator O’Loughlin said, ” Every week my office receives multiple requests to expedite passports for people who find themselves with a flight booked and no passport. This can be an incredibly stressful situation, so if you are planning to travel in the coming months- check your passport now and get the application in ASAP.”
“Unfortunately, some people have missed holidays, and have been unable to get their money back due to delays at the passport office. Please make sure this does not happen to you, and do not book a flight unless you have a valid passport.”
“I strongly recommend that applications are made online. This is by far the fastest turnaround time for passport applications. Paper application are taking a considerable amount of time to process and are next to impossible to fast track.”
Fiona concluded by saying “The passport office is under huge pressure, and we do our best in my office to assist in expediting passport applications, but it is not always possible. Please check your passports now and do not get caught out this summer.”
