Senator Fiona O’Loughlin has expressed concerns for staff and residents at Muiriosa Moore Abbey, Monasterevin.
Senator O’Loughlin said, “I have been contacted in recent days by concerned staff who fear for their futures after staff were informed that Muiriosa would not be remaining at their Moore Abbey campus.”
“Muiriosa have provided fantastic service to the people of Monasterevin and beyond over the years, and we are all incredibly grateful for their service to our community. But this is a major concern for staff at the Moore Abbey facility.”
“At present staff are in limbo as to their future and there is no doubt that local businesses and suppliers will be effected by the departure of Muiriosa.”
Fiona concluded by saying “Muiriosa have been a key part of life in Monasterevin, it is sad to see them departing from our community. We all hope that another facility will be found locally to allow them to continue to provide the top-class services we have become so accustomed to.”
