Delays in annual check ups for babies raised in the Seanad

I spoke in the Seanad on Friday, May 7 raising once more the restrictions around partners in maternity wards and requesting that they be removed. It is beyond time that partners are allowed in for routine scans and indeed labour. I spoke about the delay in the annual check ups for babies between 9 and 11 months. I was shocked to learn that 3235 babies in Kildare and West Wicklow are still waiting on their developmental check ups which have been delayed due to Covid 19. These checks are hugely important and we now need clarity. I am calling on the HSE to urgently rollout a catch up programme for this for Kildare and West Wicklow
