Local Fianna Fáil Senator Fiona O’Loughlin welcomes significant funding allocating to €8.6 million for a new Communications and Information Services Workshop at the Defence Forces Training Centre in the Curragh.
Speaking on the investment announced by Tánaiste and Minister for Defence Senator O’Loughlin said: “I am delighted to hear of the Tánaiste’s announcement of significant investment in the Defence Forces here in the Curragh.”
“This funding will significantly upgrade and modernise the Defence Forces in the Curragh Camp. It will also significantly improve the facilities and infrastructure and deliver a state-of-the-art facility.”
The dedicated facility will also provide room for equipment storage, along with staff facilities including a dining area, as well as locker rooms, showers and toilet areas for personnel.
Concluding Senator O’Loughlin said “The modernisation of our Defence Forces is of paramount importance, and I am delighted that the Tánaiste is making this a priority. I welcome this funding, and I have no doubt this will help evolve and modernise our Defence Forces here in the Curragh.”
