Kildare South based Senator Fiona O’Loughlin has called welcomed the announcement of €900,000 for St Vincents in Athy under the Health 2022 Capital Plan.
Senator O’Loughlin said, “St Vincents Athy is a key service to our community and one that I passionately advocate for within the Oireachtas.”
“I am pleased to see that €900,000 has been made available to St Vincents in Athy under the Health 2022 Capital Plan.”
“€100,000 of this funding will fund the renovation of an existing vacant ‘Nightingale’ ward and conversion to a Day Care Centre. The existing Day Care Centre will relocate to the refurbished area.”
“The remaining €800,000 will go towards a 95 Bed Community Nursing Unit to replace existing capacity as per Service Priority List. Phase 1 will be for 50 beds.”
Fiona concluded by saying “St Vincents provide great care and give great service to our community and our loved ones. This investment will help them continue to do so into the future.”
