Kildare South based Senator Fiona O’Loughlin has welcomed the Minister for Education Norma Foley has approved an extensive refurbishment and extension project for Colaiste Lorcan in Castledermot.
Senator O’Loughlin said, “I have been liaising with Minister Norma Foley, proactively on a number of different educational projects, especially in the area of special education and in terms of STEM.”
“Ensuring that our local schools have the resources and the facilities that they need to provide a high-quality education is really important.”
“This approval will see Colaiste Lorcan constructing 1 new Multimedia Room, a Music Room, a Science Lab & Prep Area as well as reconfiguration works to 2 Science Labs to Create 1 large Science Lab a Special Education Needs Base.”
Senator O’Loughlin concluded “I am delighted for the entire school community at Colaiste Lorcan, and I want to commend them for all their tireless work. We need to see continuous capital investment in our education system to ensure that our local students are getting the best start to their education journeys, and projects such as this will certainly help in that regard.”
