Extra bins call to tackle litter louts in Kildare

Senator Fiona O’Loughlin in a bid to tackle increasing litter in local parks is calling on Kildare County Council to install extra bins and employ extra emptying and cleaning of same.

“ It is shocking to see such litter around the place,” said Senator O’Loughlin.

“Whilst everyone should be responsible for their own litter, be it a sandwich wrapper, disposable coffee cup, ice cream stick, I believe that our county councils should install extra bins and have extra emptying and cleaning at parks for the remainder of the pandemic – one example would be Newbridge Liffey Linear park -I will write a letter into Kildare County Council to install extra bins and employ extra emptying and cleaning of same – our parks are sacred spaces now more than ever and should be kept clean for everyone to enjoy.”
