Kildare South Senator Fiona O’Loughlin has welcomed confirmation that Griese Youth Theatre and Children’s Drama will receive €3,150 under the Small Scale Local Festivals and Summer Schools Scheme.
She said: “Culture and arts add hugely to our lives and to our communities. The Small Scale Local Festivals and Summer Schools Scheme is so beneficial to local initiatives as it supports those that may not be eligible under funding criteria for larger scale events.
“Griese Youth Theatre and Children’s Drama will receive funding that will help to celebrate 25 years of youth arts in Ballitore with a programme designed to bring creativity out onto the streets of the village. The funding will support this celebration of the group’s longevity and resilience in the arts with a programme of music, poetry, song, and a feast of dance.
“I want to congratulate all involved on the awarding of this funding and for the work they do in our community.”
