Kildare receives the second highest allocation of new housing posts in the Country- Senator Fiona O’Loughlin

The Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, Darragh O’Brien TD has approved 13 new posts for Kildare County Council’s housing delivery teams which will assist in delivering their social housing targets.

Senator O’Loughlin said, “I am pleased to see my colleague Minister Darragh O’Brien TD delivering 13 new housing posts for Kildare County Council.”

“Housing for All commits to strengthening the capacity of Local Authorities to initiate, design, plan, develop and manage housing projects, and this increase in personnel is a key aspect of that.”

“I have been in regular communication with Minister O’Brien since he took office, and I am pleased to see that Kildare has been received the second highest allocation in country”

“With the approval of these new posts, Government are supporting local authorities to ensure that they have the capacity to deliver the scale of social housing required to tackle our housing crisis”

Fiona concluded “I am delighted that Minister O’Brien has listened to my calls and has given us the second highest allocation in the Country. However, I have also communicated the infrastructural issues we face in South Kildare, from a lack of school places to the absolute need for a second bridge in Newbridge- and we also need to see issues like that addressed.”
