Kildare based Senator Fiona O’Loughlin has welcomed the announcement by her government colleague Minister Norma Foley TD that Scoil Mhichil Naofa has received approval to proceed to tender on the construction of 12 new classrooms and the renovation of their existing rooms.
Senator O’Loughlin said, “I am pleased that Minister Foley has approved the project, and that it will now proceed to tender”
“This project will see a 12 Classroom extension being constructed, plus the refurbishment of the existing 16 classrooms, to provide a top class 28 classroom school for the children of Athy and the surrounding areas.”
Fiona concluded “I regularly raise the issue of school place capacity in South Kildare with Minister Foley and her officials, and I am pleased to see this project moving forward. It is a huge endorsement of the teachers, staff and whole school community at Scoil Mhichil Naofa.”
