Newbridge based Senator Fiona O’Loughlin has questioned the Minister in relation to the provision of a second bridge for Newbridge.
Senator O’Loughlin said, “This issue has been knocked around for years and years and years. It’s time that this vital piece of infrastructure is delivered for the people of Newbridge. I have been raising this at every level over my career as a public representative. It’s about time that this project is delivered.”
“There are over 1500 houses in the eight housing estates and one-off houses that all access the town via that one bridge. It is simply crazy that in 2022 that we are still relying on one bridge that leads you right through the centre of town causing absolute pandemonium at rush hour.”
Fiona concluded “I will be meeting Minister Darragh O’Brien in the coming weeks to once again stress the importance of this vital piece of infrastructure to our community. We need progress.” -ENDS
