O’Loughlin welcomes equine inclusion in the next TAMS

Fianna F Senator Fiona O’Loughlin has welcomed confirmation from her Government colleague Minister Charlie McConalogue TD that he will soon sign off on the next CAP and TAMS programme which will include equine farmers.

Senator O’Loughlin said, “We are rightly proud of our long and distinguished equine history in South Kildare. Since my election to the Oireachtas in 2016 I have advocated strongly for the equine industry and have been liaising with Minister for Agriculture Charlie McConalogue on behalf of local equine farmers.”

“Minister McConalogue will soon sign off on the next CAP programme and Targeted Agricultural Modernisation Scheme which will include the equine industry.”

“We all know the central role that thoroughbred and sport horse industries play to our rural economies, especially here in South Kildare. I am pleased that Fianna Fail in Government have been able to support rural the South Kildare economy.”

Fiona concluded by saying “This funding will be key to future proofing the equine industry in South Kildare. We need to promote the long-term success of the equine industry in South Kildare and I am pleased that Minister McConalogue has delivered this key change.”
