Over €26 million announced to fund regional and local roads in Kildare for 2022

Senator Fiona O’Loughlin has welcomed the announcement by her Government colleagues that €26,667,450 has been allocated to Kildare for a roads investment programme for 2022 for regional and local roads.

Senator O’Loughlin said, “I am pleased that my Government colleagues have today announced a €26,667,450 investment programme for 2022 in Kildare for regional and local roads.”

“This funding is hugely welcome, with some key projects around South Kildare being include. Of particular note is €8.8 million for Athy Southern Distributor Road, and I am so pleased that after years of fighting for this that the project is finally getting off the ground.”

“I am also pleased to see Monasterevin Bridge and Brooke Bridge in Monasterevin, Co.Kildare have received €177,200 and €70,200 respectively under the 2022 Bridge Rehabilitation Works on Regional and Local Roads funding.”

Fiona concluded “Funding has also been sanctioned safety improvement at Cock Bridge, Mylerstown Cross, Tullylost and Dagswell to Cockbridge. I am happy to see this funding announced .”
