Project to amalgamate the St Peters and St. Evin’s national schools is moving to the construction phase

Fianna Fáil Education spokesperson Senator Fiona O’Loughlin has confirmed that the new school building for the amalgamation of St Evins and Peters national schools is moving to the construction phase.

Senator O’Loughlin said “I have just been advised by my colleague Minster Norma Foley that the amalgamation of St Peters and St. Evin’s national schools which was approved in June of last year has progressed to the next phase.”

“The Large-Scale Capital Programme to construct a new school building that will house 24 classrooms, and a 2 SEN classroom base has now moved to the construction phase”

“This is great news for community of Monasterevin, and with the construction on St Paul’s secondary school progressing satisfactorily on site, it is anticipated that the school will be ready for occupation in quarter four 2022. It is a ringing endorsement of the education community in Monasterevin.”

Fiona concluded “I am pleased to see the amalgamation project being prioritised and I know the huge work that the school communities have put in to keep this project moving. I will be liaising with the Minister to ensure that this project continues to progress and will.”
