Second batch of Cost Rental properties Open for applications in Newbridge

Fianna Fail Senator Fiona O’Loughlin has announced the opening of applications for 50 new cost rental homes in Newbridge, Co Kildare, on Wednesday 27th July, with rents approximately 25% to 30% below market value.

The 50 new cost rental homes are a mix of one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments, located in The Paddocks, Newbridge, Co. Kildare. Under the Government’s Cost Rental Scheme, rents are targeted at a minimum of 25% below open market value, with prices for The Paddocks homes starting at €1,000 per month. This development will enable more middle-income households in Newbridge to access high-quality, secure homes close to their work and community. In addition to below-market rates, residents will also be provided with long-term security of tenure.

Senator O’Loughlin said “I am absolutely delighted to inform you that applications have opened for 50 new cost rental homes in Newbridge. These are a mix of one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments, located in The Paddocks, Newbridge, Co. Kildare.”

“The Cost Rental Scheme, which is a key element of Fianna Fail’s Housing for all strategy, will mean rents are targeted at a minimum of 25% below open market value, with prices for The Paddocks homes starting at €1,000 per month – approx. 25% to 30% below local market rates. Key to this is the fact that residents will also be provided with long-term security of tenure.”

“I have been liaising with Minister Darragh O’Brien and his officials and calling for our community to be included within the Fianna Fail parliamentary party for some time now. Cost rental is an obvious solution for us in Kildare South.”

“These  are high quality new-build, A-rated, energy efficient properties and will be semi-furnished. Each home will include white goods, including a fridge freezer, a dishwasher, an oven and hob, a microwave, and a washer dryer as standard. Roller blinds, including a blackout blind in bedrooms, are provided, in addition to laminate flooring throughout, and tiled bathrooms.”

Concluding, Senator O’Loughlin said “Housing is an acute need in South Kildare, and we need to provide people with long term secure tenancies in high quality homes. Cost rental does that.”
