Senator Fiona O’Loughlin calls for additional neurology nurses

This week in the Seanad Senator Fiona O’Loughlin called on the Government for action regarding the low number of neurology nurses in Tallaght.

The Kildare based Senator spoke about the lack of neurology nurses at Tallaght hospital, which covers Kildare and West Wicklow, saying “Tallaght Hospital is the main neurology centre for people from Kildare and from West Wicklow also, but it is absolutely short of neurology nurse specialists.”

Fiona concluded by saying “There’s only 2.5 where there should be 20. I’m asking for this to be taken as a priority. We need to have 100 extra nurses across Ireland and 20 in Tallaght.”
