St Peters and St. Evin’s national schools to amalgamate

The amalgamation of two Monasterevin national schools has been approved, along with approval for a new school building.

The Minister for Education, Norma Foley TD approved the Large-Scale Capital Programme this morning, allowing for the schools to amalgamate, but crucially allowing for the construction of new school building to house them”.

This building will be a new 24 classroom school, with a special needs unit and new GP hall. I am particularly delighted to see the special needs unit included, as I have always advocated for an equal access to education and for inclusivity within our community schools.

With the construction of St Paul’s secondary school now underway also, this additional capital funding is a further endorsement of the work and dedication of the entire school community in Monasterevin.
