Supports for Special Need Assistants raised in Seanad

This morning in the Seanad about the 18,000 SNA’s who need more support in their profession.

The care, compassion and comfort that they give the students make it easier for the parents, teachers and indeed the children in question. I raised the need for the Minister for Education to ensure that accreditation is given to Special Needs Assistants who are studying with UCD, the necessity to grant permission and support for ASD classes in St Conleths and Mary’s, and the Holy Family secondary in Newbridge.
