School Bullying on the agenda for the Joint Committee on Education

The Joint Committee on Education, Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science continued its discussion this week on School Bullying and the Impact on Mental Health with representatives from Education and Training Boards Ireland (ETBI), the Catholic Primary Schools Management Association (CPSMA); and the Joint Managerial Body/Association of Management of Catholic Secondary Schools (JMB/AMCSS).
ETBI, CPSMA and the JMB/AMCSS held on Tuesday 25 May.
This discussion was the fourth of a series of committee meetings that will see relevant stakeholders come before the committee through to the beginning of July.
I  welcomed the chance to hear from the witnesses, which should further our understanding of what is happening in schools; how we can help students, parents, teachers and the whole school community; and if there are changes we need to consider to help tackle these issues head-on.
