I raised the situation in occupied Palestinian territory and Israel in the Seanad on Monday, May 17. I stated that a clear statement from the UN in relation to the conflict and a ceasefire is required.
I reflected on my time in the late 80s spent working and living in a Kibbutz with a number of Palestinians with whom I became firm friends. We need to send a very clear message that the cycle of violence and bloodshed must end now.
Countless families have lost loved ones including innocent children killed as a result of this violence.
